Synopsis
On February 14th, 1958, Marian, a morose librarian, takes a shortcut home down a deserted New York City alleyway. Roused from her thoughts by a desperate cry for help, she discovers a "fearsome" bat-cat hybrid. Touched by the monster's naïveté and desperation, Marian names him Valentine and takes him home to her two precocious cats. Conflicts, abandonment, and fantastical adventures involving balletic bats and beatnik rats ensue.
