The first scene of “Valentine” is now available on the Heretic Opera website for viewing! “Valentine” is a unique project that I have been involved with for over three years now as part of my residency with Heretic Opera. Back in 2010, I composed this work as a jazz-opera, in collaboration with librettist Madelaine Coffman. Since then, the project has morphed into a “graphic novel opera,” with animated visuals that coincide with a recording we made in 2011-12. The visuals are still in development – however, they are well on the way to being finished. So, I invite all of you to check out this preview of the first scene – it has been a LONG time coming!
