no words is a personal work that represents my own inability to, at times, articulate my thoughts in a meaningful or coherent manner. The title is also a direct reference to the classical "song without words," which is typically a lyrical instrumental work evoking an art song. Inspiration for this piece came from Radiohead songs, and while no one song is the complete inspiration of this work, elements from "Let Down" (OK Computer) and "Pyramid Song" (Amnesiac) are both present in the way repeated lines of music layer and interact with one another. Lyrical melody lines early in the work are my own attempt at capturing the beautiful soaring falsetto of Thom Yorke's melodies.
